Residential Landscaping in Las Cruces, NM
Every service on this site applies to residential properties, but a homeowner’s decisions look different from a commercial or HOA client’s — you’re the one who has to live with the design, use the space day to day, and deal with any water-bill or maintenance consequences of the choices made. This page is about how that shapes the residential side of what we do.

What Do Homeowners Usually Start With?
Most residential projects begin with a blank or neglected yard, a high water bill, or a specific feature request.
- A blank or neglected yard. New construction with bare, compacted ground, or an older property where landscaping has been let go. See Landscape Design & Installation for how we approach a full plan from scratch.
- A high water bill or a struggling lawn. Often the trigger for a xeriscape conversion — see Xeriscaping for how that works and what it actually saves.
- A specific feature request. A patio, a fire pit, a fixed irrigation problem, or a yard that just needs cleaned up and maintained going forward — see Hardscaping, Outdoor Living Spaces, Irrigation & Sprinkler Systems, and General Maintenance & Yard Cleanup.
What Matters Most on a Residential Property?
How you’ll actually use the space, your own budget, and the real maintenance a design requires — those are the three things we plan around before proposing anything.
- You’ll actually use the space day to day, which is why we ask how you use your yard — entertaining, kids and pets, quiet mornings on a patio — before proposing a design, not after.
- The budget is your own money, not a business expense line, so we give a written estimate before anything starts and don’t add scope without your sign-off first.
- You’re the one who has to maintain it, or pay someone to. A design that looks great on day one but needs constant upkeep isn’t a favor to a homeowner — part of our job is being honest about the maintenance a given design actually requires.
